Error 0x8024402c during Windows Update after clean re-install of Win7

    Hello,

I have an ASUS laptop that used to have Win7 Premium Home Edition SP1 installed. It came pre-installed with the OS, and the HDD had 2 partitions. I decided to re-install the OS clean.
I first removed the 2 partitions and created a single big one.
Then I installed Win7 after formatting the partition.
Everything went well until I tried to do a Windows Update that didn't seem to go through.
I even ran the Microsoft Diagnostic tool which gave me error 0x8024402c.

I have tried many websites & forums' suggestions, even reinstalled the OS several times, even installed another flavor of Win7. Same issue.

I am attaching the logs in case you can find the culprit.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
There are essentially 3 updates needed for a clean install of windows that will get you updated through April of 2016

KB3020369 & KB3172605 & KB3125574 all can be downloaded from the M$ catalog using internet explorer
    Microsoft Update Catalog

When manually installing updates you need to switch your update settings to Never check for updates and restart the machine first.
After restart ensure the built in windows update service is stopped and set to manual first or it will conflict with the stand alone installer.

I also have all 3 of these needed updates on my OneDrive if you don't or can't deal with the catalog
