Hi,

I installed exactly as recommended by you.

But after activation, search for updates, get an error 8024402F?

Any ideas why?....MS server load?

BTW during manual install of the 3 updates, had never to check for updates, and update service stopped.

After installing KB3125574, was prompted to reboot.

Lastly installed KB317260.

Hi again,

Earlier I installed, without stopping update service and none change in check for updates, faced none errors later.

And the order was

1. KB3020369

2. KB3172605

3. KB3125574.........at the last vs. now this in the middle. This requires a reboot not the other 2.

After install activation went fine, but am constantly facing this error.....might go away after some time, since it's a weekend.......

Guess was correct, was probably a server load issue, got fixed.

40 important updates, size approx 236 MB.

Care to have a look at the 2 screenshots, of yours left over 13 W7 optional vs mine 22.......can't find all the 13 you posted.

Would you recommend which to install?

Thanks for replying in depth.

Posting screen shot of all optional, after updating W7 and MS Off.

I can probably only find 10 of yours 13, should I install all the rest, of course leaving MSE, Silverlight?

Are the ones with asterisks not needed ones?

Hi,
Yes that is fairly safe to say and what I was pointing to when I said exclude the ones from my lists :)
Unless any of them is for a feature you want to use like remote desktop.....

I believe we talked about ceip = "Customer Experience Improvement Program" which should by default be opted out of but you can check to see if you are or not by clicking start and paste this into the start menu search box
Change Customer Experience Improvement Program settings

The above will open a window showing if you are or not opted into it

1. CEIP is KB3080149 or KB3021917.

2. If Silvelight isn't installed, KB3182373 would not be required too or get's installed with Skype?

3. With your new setup install, 3 W7 imp updates are not required too.

Hi,
I don't know Silverlight is a mystery why it exists at all now html5 streaming is being used by amazon prime and also NetFlix will soon enough if not already
Silverlight bites anyway only Microsoft help videos use it now :)
You can try and see for yourself and let me know if one is required to using Skype ?
