Moderators may notice that I had begun an earlier other thread in General Discussion. May I be forgiven for this, and for not understanding the [CODE] command for the diagnositc report, but I now feel my apparently crippled and malfunctioning installation has an issue as to whether this copy of Win7 is genuine. Could this explain the problems referred to in the earlier thread. And how to resolve all this? Thanks in advance your expert understanding.

    Hi Leachim,

No biggy you have a bad set of intel drivers, please run the drivers from this link

Download Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology (Intel(R) RST) RAID Driver

use the iata enu set at the bottom please.

It will clear all those file mismatches, and you should be good to go.

Thanks Torchwood ! Forgive me if I am sceptical, but if you have seen my posts on the General Discussion I have a Validation/Authentic copy f Windows issue.
I've tackled the software supplier, to whom i sent the MSAdiag page result, but he now wants a screen shot of system properties, which I am unable to produce (I think prnt scrn doesn't work on 64-bit....).
But I'm sceptical about your intel driver suggestion, ' cos I m not using any raid or similar set up on this machine. And when I followed up the link you gave I couldn't see which drivers might be right.
But in any event, this present installation of IE11 doesn't seem to allow me to download anything. I would have to go to another machine and get them via a USB key... That's how I used MSAdiag. and also how I tried (unsuccessfully) to install Windows Live Mail using the offline full installer.
In short, the usual Windows frustration and annoyance....
Forgive me and try to help me please!

    Hi Leachim,
Your just as sceptical as Tensus.
HD Replacement makes W7 not genuine - MS cannot fix

I told him the same he didnt believe me either.
Told him he's the first this month, your the second.

If you want your OS to be validated and to recieve updates.
    DO as i said.

MAKE SURE you download the bottom set IATA.enu to your USB.

Now when youve done that we'll have a look at your other problems, this might even fix them

Hope your not paying the other people

    Just a silly question,
Why did you use your Sticker code.

Your comp has a recovery partiton which would/should have auto-activated.

There was NO need to use "someone" else's recovery media, more than likely caused this problem in the first place.

Hats off to you, Torchwood, the transformation is total!!! I'm able to download files normally, I've at last been able to install Windows Live Mail, which had been driving me mad for weeks, and it immediately found some Outlook Express accounts and went to work straight away (in desperation I had obtained an uprated version of OE from the site runasxp). Win Update is now working as good as it ever does. But the best of all is that I can stay logged on to Windows 7 Help forums (Before I kept getting kicked off).

I'm amazed and very impressed that you could diagnose the problem from that diag page (and surprised that no other message or diag showed up the problem - I don't think there was any yellow ! in device manager, for example.

I'm hoping now that the apparently specious and misleading indications that this was not a genuine copy of Windows are a thing of the past, but the improvement is in any case already radical.
