    Windows 7 x64 Service pack 1 update error 8020002E

    Greetings friends!

The short : I am trying to update my windows 7, however every time it gets to installing updates (Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems(KB976932)), it fails with error code 8020002E.
    I have tried

    • Running the system update readiness tool
    • Using the windows update troubleshooter
    • using the sfc /scannow
    • Ran a chkdisk
    • formatted the windows recovery partition (I suspect this was a mistake)

The long : I did a clean install of windows 7, I previously had windows 10. I formatted the hard drive windows 10 was on and then created two partitions. I then installed windows 7 from a usb flash drive during boot. The bootable usb was created with Rufus. After I installed windows the first things I installed was my network driver and then my display driver. My display driver didn't work and after troubleshooting and reading multiple threads I then came to the conclusion it was because I didnt have service pack 1 installed.

This brings me to where I am now, Struggling to install the windows 7 service pack 1 update. I have tried running the network troubleshooter tool and the system update readiness tool a few times and after a few restarts and failed attempts to no avail. At the moment the update seems stuck on installing updates (in the updates window i accessed from control panel) at around 70%. I am leaving it as is for now since it is 1.30 am and i gotta be up at 6 so I am leaving it overnight.

Here is the logs as per instructed by the guidelines CBS.zip - Google Drive.

My apologies if I left anything out, I am very tired and I don't think I am thinking all too well anymore. I usually don't ask for help and try and troubleshoot everything myself. Me asking for help means I am really at my wit's end and I don't know where to go from here at all.

Thank you very much in advance
    Gerrit

    Hi,
Not sure why you don't already have sp1 installed but it's best to start with installation media with it included in it
Just post the language you need and exact version and we can post it for you
Or you can do it yourself with this if you have another machine that has net framework 4.6.1
Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

Afterwards look into post 2 here to update it
    windows update
