W7 and Off Updates Strange behaviour?

    Hi,

    I am facing the following:

    1. At times, if I install W7 updates in batches, it displays some or the other updates as cancelled in View Update history (Though they are installed, seeing in Installed updates), If I do all in 1 go get a failed update, while at other times despite doing in batches won't show them as cancelled.

    2. Yesterday, happened the same, did W7 38 Important in batches, none showed as cancelled, cause I knew Nov Roll get's failed if done, all in one go.

    3. But when I did Off updates in batches, it displayed, as cancelled.

    It's confusing....why this....

Any expert suggestions, recommendations on how not to get Cancelled, for both W7 and OFF?

    Thanks.

    Hi:

From the number of other, recent threads, it looks as if this system has had some issues.
It's hard to say exactly what's going on.
Windows Update issues can be challenging to nail down and fix.

But to help us to better help you, I suggest starting with the advice here:

    Windows Update Posting Instructions

    We'll go from there.

    Thanks,

Thanks for suggesting, where to post, but ain't getting any errors, just weird behavior.

    Edit:

In the same install, before Off updates, did W7 updates in batches, but none show cancelled...

    Hi:

The steps in the pinned topic are suggested to begin troubleshooting and to provide a wee bit of data to help us to better assist you (as we are not in front of your computer).

However, it's certainly up to you.
Perhaps someone else will be able to address your concerns.

    Cheers,

    Hi,
I wouldn't do office updates in batches
They do need to all be installed at the same time

I'd also make sure office is last to install
Windows needs to be updated first then once it is create a system image and proceed with other items like office,
Once those 2 items are installed another system image and then your third party programs/ security...

Thanks, for sharing to do office updates in 1 go.:)

I Installed Off after updating W7 in batches.

    Edit:

But didn't realize to create W7 image, thought you recommended that 1st image is W7 and Off Updated, and not W7 1st, 2nd with Off......
