Multiple Win7 updates fail to install

I have been having issues for almost a year trying to install Win7 updates. I have tried several things including deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder (a fix that didn't work that was in a Microsoft forum), running sfc /scannow, multiple scans of antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection), scans of MalwareBytes and Spybot S&D. I have run the SURT from Microsoft and attached the logs below as well as running the sfc program again - running sfc turns up no issues.

There are two sets of error codes listed:

Code 80073712 - the update failed to install
Code 80242014 - the update supposedly installed but is 'pending' even after several reboots.

The Update Issues.txt contains the list of updates that either failed or are 'pending'. I have tried downloading the updates individually and installing manually with the same error codes. Unfortunately I do not have a log from before I deleted the SoftwareDistribution folder. I have tried restoring to a previous time but that didn't work either.

Thanks for replying ThrashZone! KB3020369 and KB3172605 were downloaded but did not install. Message says that both are already installed. Working on the Update components resetting now. Will let you know tomorrow what has progressed.

I ran the Update reset and it added a couple more updates which successfully installed. Update KB3172605 still failed to install. I then downloaded that update as well as KB3185330 and KB3192403 - these had failed to install when using Win Update. I ran each manually and they still failed to install. I just ran the Update reregister file but the same updates still fail to install. They download and appear to install but still fail with the same error code. I am hesitant to reimage this laptop since it is a work issued machine and a royal pain to get back on the corporate network. If you have any other suggestions I am open for them. I also hate the way MS now sends out updates.

    Hi,
Thanks no familiar with Windows License Type: Volume MAK
Where did you get the installation ?
Bios is 2016 which is beyond the sells of win-7 I believe for most manufactures.

The Volume MAK License type is a Volume License sold only in bulk to organisations - usually with more than 5 licensed machines. They require usually that the machine comes with a Pro version of Windows installed.
This machine looks to me as if it meets that latter criterion - the only question then becomes the origin of the license.

Torchwood: Love the handle! I will reset the time zone and system clock and see if that fixes the issue. As for the winners of major sporting events - I would rather have the next 2 years in Lotto number winners!

NoelDP and ThrashZone: The laptop is a company issued for my own use as I see fit within their installed software limitations. Every engineer in my department has one, a Dell E5400 of some form. I have had this one for about 2 years now. The previous ones were WinXP - first a Lenovo Z91T (motherboard died) then a HP that was replaced when the support for XP ended. The bios was updated last month from the Dell website.
