    Hi Again ImCanadian,

    Your licenced but not registered.

    please run KB971033.

    Reboot x2

    Rerun the Mgadiag,
the file mismatches should be gone, and further down WAT should be registered
    And away you go

note if you have not updated in a while read this thread
Windows Update will not update and I've tried multiple fixes

    On a secondary note,
you appear to be using a Dreamspark licence product key
I hope you didnt buy it on the net, ONLY available via Educational establishments.

Roy -- I got this program, Dreamspark licence product key as I was working in education field before I retired three weeks ago. I was a student support counsellor to the deaf students at the residential school for the deaf here.

Anyway I checked the file with KB971033 in Windows Update and is not there showing in the installed files. So I am not sure what next with this because of can't find KB971033. Will wait to hear what next step with this.

Thought to let you know now before what to do next with this? I followed your information about install one of the KB last night. I left my desktop on running through the night and this morning see still trying to download the KB link on my monitor screen. I guess that this is not working but leave it trying to install. Will wait to hear about the next procedure to fix the Windows Update.

    Hi John,
Thats most unusual, that KB does not follow the standard update rules.
Can you try from this MS link, ignore the title if it says access denied

I have decided to give up trying to fix Windows Update and go ahead to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 64X for my desktop.

Want to say thank you to Roy aka torchwood for your help with this.
