Success at last - Windows 7 updates

For days I have wrestled with the no updates situation after a clean install. I tried everything with out success.

I discovered that I had been a twit by not following carefully the advice given.
The recommendation given said turn off automatic update setting, and put this to manual. This I did via control panel.
What was not always clear in the many helpful suggestions, was the need to go to services ALSO and change windows update from automatic to manual.

Once I did this, and installed the necessary recommend KB's - I had instant response to the installation supply etc. When this was done, I (as recommended) I returned both settings to their former detail - and since updates have been arriving with no problem at all.

I hope this may be of help to others, who like me are having difficulties. In my case I was 'the problem'.
