Three updates will not uninstall (the W10 nonsense)
I'm trying to fix my wife's computer running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. The main problem is that it cannot find any new updates, and I've tried I don't know how many tricks, tips, and troubleshooting options available.
I started wondering if there's an update that was getting in the way, and I remembered the three that were created to service the free Windows 10 update. I've been able to delete them before, but now it doesn't work.
The three updates I want to get rid of are KB3035583, KB2952664, KB3021917
Unfortunately, when I try to uninstall them via Windows Update, the process gets out to about 90% and then stops, returning the message
An error occurred. No all of the updates were successfully uninstalled.
So I tried via command prompt wusa /uninstall /kb:3035583 (as an example), running as Administrator. When I do this, I get the following message
Installer encountered an error: 0x80070643
Fatal error during installation
Does anyone have a recommendation for getting rid of these items that doesn't involve a clean installation?
Thanks in advance.
