Unable to install KB3125574 convenience rollup

Im on my backup pc and this one has Win7 pro x64 without any kind of updates. I wanted to update it and I installed first KB3020369, which is a prereq, and also KB2670838 (suggested by WHDownloader to install before the roll up). Of course, I restarted after installing these two updates.

The problem I have is that the update wont install. Its always at 0%. I tried several times, after 1 hour waiting, nothing. I even tried installing it with ntlite and its exactly the same problem, stuck at 0%.

Do you know what am i missing here?

    Thanks you

I don`t have that on my PC, installed or hidden, and my install is maybe 2 months old.

Isn`t that the one with a bunch of updates together or something, I wouldn`t install it, doesn`t sound to good from this description.

I solved thanks to torchwood's link, but Im not sure which part did it.

As I said, I had installed KB3020369 and KB2670838. WHDownloader said that I should install july 2016 rollup after KB3125574 but that link said that I should install it before, so I dont know which is the propper way. Anyway, I did reset Windows Update with the bat, then I was finally able to install the april roll up. I think that it was the bat the one that solved it but I cant tell for sure.

Windows 7 Convenience Update Fix KB3125574

After a fresh install of Windows 7 SP-1 Ultimate 32bit, I was unable to install the Convenience
Rollup Update KB3125574 with message it was not applicable.

After much research I found that “Servicing Stack Update” KB3020369 must be installed first, or the roll-up will report “the update is not applicable”. Update KB3020369 is a relatively small update and can be applied with no reboot. (Ref: blogs.technet.microsoft.com/ )

Note also that OEM versions various OS's (iso's) are available from Microsoft in the event you have a PC
that was not supplied with a CD of the Windows OS. Check out links at heidoc.net. Of course you
will need valid keys to activate these.

The Rufus tool worked nicely to create a bootable USB to install the Window 7 (SP1) iso image on the PC.

    Cheers,

    brick8:
After you do a clean install of Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit, all you need to do is to run the most current version (August 2021) of Simplix Update Pack.
