The bigger concern is why he/she has not already installed SP1.
If its the M83 tiny it would have shipped with W8.

    looks like W8 to me
In which case your >> never << gonna get W7 SP1, with your current install
(where did you get your install media)
and the KB its referencing has been superceeded, so how did you install it???

    Please complete your system specs.

if you follow the instructions from here i could give you further details,

You are correct, the install will format your hard drive. Although you can leave a Windows.old directory, I would not rely on this. Before doing the clean install, make sure you complete the following:

    1) Retrieve and save the product key for your Office programs. Use Magic Jelly Bean Key Finder to extract it. (If you are using Office 365 with a subscription you can skip this step because you can just sign in to Office after the clean install).

    2) Copy all your important files to an external hard disk or flash drive. This is your backup. You can also make note of any programs you want to reinstall afterwards.

    3) Go online to your manufacturer's website and download as many drivers as you can for your system. Make sure you get at least the Networking drivers because you'll probably want Internet access. Save the drivers to your flash drive or external drive.
