I'm attempting to complete the steps you suggested now. Wish me luck and I'll let you know how it goes!

Is ok that I am running the install for 10 instead of 7? Even though I have the product key, the DVD is severely scratched. I tried entering my product code on the Microsoft website, but they didn't have anything for me. I wondered if it's because it's a copy I received as a college student.

I got this. Should I have answered yes to both?

So I restarted after rebuildbcd and got the same message as before. Pressed f12 for boot options, pressed esc for use default options, and then it booted from Dvd. "Press any key.." Windows 10 installation began again.

I got it to work! I think my UEFI boot order is still messed up, but I am able to bypass the error by accessing the boot menu in startup, pressing esc for default boot options, and then it let me run the installation disc. Under advanced options in installation, I was able to format the partition for a clean install, and now have Windows 10 up and running! Thank you so much, Roy, for taking the time to help me out!
