    Hi Thrash again,

As you may read, have tried doing all.

    1. Restoring W7 only, retyping and activating, same.

    2. Restoring 2nd W7 and Off, same.

In your expert opinion what could be the issue, causing this?

    Any expert ideas, thoughts, suggestions?

Do you think would get the same results, trying to clean install W7?

Could be MS server issues, if that is hypothetically the reason, why does W7 get activated online in a few seconds........

    Totally confused.....

    Thanks again!

    Edit:

Windows Update - Reset gives the same results...

    Thanks Thrash and Roy,

I had a feeling, that maybe has to do with my provider. Hooked it to my friend's dsl router, none issues.

Nothing to do with CCleaner or backups, saved me from a clean install.

    Thanks again. :)

Hi, true, but was having issues only with Windows Update.

Thrash, I have a question, on restoration of a backup, TFC (Old Timer) when run displays 150 MB of temporary files, should they be cleaned or it doesn't matter.

Whenever IF image restored, TFC should be run?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you ran TFC it has already removed the 150mb and yes they should be removed

I run TFC when I feel the need too it's great :)

Thanks, just wanted to take your expert advice.

Every backup restore, has probably the same amount of temporary files, used by rescue media.

    Btw, Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

    Hope you had fun.

Thrash, should TFC be run after image restore, before checking for updates, or it doesn't matter!

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

It's a stock W7 with Off image, that I restored, didn't install or run TFC or diskclean bore creating the backup.

Now if I run TFC, it deletes, 150 MB of temp files. Are they these the earlier temp files before creating the image or those used by Rescue CD?

Size on disk of restored image before TFC is 16.1 GB and after 16 GB?

Is it fine or should I recreate image of this backup, after running TFC......or it doesn't matter now?

    Thanks.
