not genuine message on recently installed Service Pack 1 Win7

I bought a barely used HP EliteBook 840 G2 and paid 220 bucks to copy my old Toshiba hard drive info and for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (to replace the Win10 on the HP). everything worked fine, incl. almost 200 updates

Then I got a "not Genuine" msg from MS, downloaded an installer from MS and it again showed a valid install
BUT when I try to insert the product key (see below) it says the first digit ("o") in my product key is invalid

I have now gotten 2 such "not genuine" msgs from MS

Sorry for confusion. A couple of days ago I bought a used HP 840 G2 which had come with W10 already installed in it. The store which sold me the HP/W10 removed the W10 and installed W7 Service Pack 1 and then tranferred the data from the hard disc on my dead Toshiba to the HP which then had W7 in it.

I just downloaded and used the MGADiag from the link you posted above; here is the result >

The last section, Licensing shows >

    Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0):
    -----------------------------------------
    Partial Product Key: 9TWKD
    License Status: Licensed

    does that mean "Genuine"?

    Hi Airider,

You have 2 problems causing the non-genuine pop-up.

    1)
If im reading this correctly your using the COA sticker code from your old computer on the new one, the shop then used it to install W7.
This is Against the rules of the EULA, and makes the system non-genuine
The shop should have told you this.
They have also modified the Bios to include a W7 SLIC table to allow the key to be accepted and then licenced, which means the install is counterfiet.

To correct this you wil need to buy either a System Builder or Retail product key.

    2)
The Tampered and file mismatches are caused by a different problem.
frequently seen when copying/cloning an OS to another computer.
I do know how to correct this,
as you are currently running a counterfiet install, forum policy does not allow me to help you further.

Once a genuine product key is installed, i will do so
    (it will still be there)
