    Cannot install KB4015549

I have tried to install the latest update 3 times. When asked to restart the configuring update starts and then hangs at 30%. Have left the pc running for 3 hours with no change. Powered down and started in Safe Mode and Reverting started and was successful. Win 7 Home premium with an Intel Core Duo E6550. On a seperate machine running Win 7 Professional and an Intel Premium 4 CPU 3.00ghz the update was successful. Help please

Restart to make sure the Windows Update Service is stopped then Goto C:> Windows> SoftwareDistribution> Download and Delete everything in that Folder. Search for updates and try to install again.

Tried that, clear out the \Downloads\ folder - No difference - still stuck at 30% when updating on re-start.

Might be something You need to ask about on Microsoft Support ? I keep My own Win 7 Rigs updated by waiting on the Simplix Pack to come out then running it as Admin off the desktop.

Had you tried downloading from The Microsoft Update Catalog http://www.catalog.update.microsoft....px?q=kb4015549

Not being too techy, just out of interest, why should downloading from the MS Update Catalog make a difference?
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
If I download from the MS Update Catalog, where do I put the file, do I need to rename it in any way or extract the files etc?

Just save it to a known location, then run it - it'll do the rest itself.

Well, first off -- there may not be anything wrong though ---

Please check your currently installed updates and look for:

KB4015552 – April 2017 Preview of Monthly Rollup

If it is there and installed, then there is nothing wrong - that update was superseded 7 days after it's release
