Product key is only for upgrading, error 0xC004F061

Hi. Once or twice a few months ago, I was able to activate a copy of Windows 7 with a product key that had come with an upgrade disk designed for Vista, so technically not a full copy of Windows 7, but the activation still worked perfectly fine. But now, I'm installing it again, having removed any previous installations, and upon activating it after installation, but still within the trial period, it's now telling me that I can only use this product key for an upgrade, not a clean install.

The thing is, although I didn't have to use this before, I do have a vista product key as well, so because I have both a vista product key and a 7 upgrade product key, I technically do have a legal copy of Windows 7.

I'm wondering two things really: Why is this happening with this installation while it didn't happen with any previous ones, and if that problem can't be solved, then is there any way I could use the vista product key and the 7 upgrade product key together to get a fully legal copy of 7, without installing vista first then upgrading to 7? (I'm aware I could do that, but it's not as good as a clean install)

Here's the report that MGADiag gave me:

Thank you so much! I now have an activated copy of Windows 7. Still a bit weird that I never had to do this before but I did this time, but it's sorted, so thanks

Because you are using a 'Default' key your system will never activate properly.

Where did you get this COA key?
