How To Uninstall Windows Update KB2592687 On Windows 7 64 Bit

    Hello,

I have been trying to uninstall this update all day and even with Googling and Disabling Windows from trying to push Windows 10 down to my computer I cannot seem to find a way to get it off my fairly new clean installation on my laptop. Can anyone help me get rid of it for good?

I would GREATLY Appreciate any assistance provided.

    Thank You!

    Hello and welcome to SF.

Start Menu> Windows Update> View Update History> Installed Update History- Type into the "Search" KB2592687.
    When it is found> Right click> Uninstall> Re-boot.

    Thanks,

I have tried that and it just keeps coming back?

It must need something else uninstalled first?

    Thanks for the reply!

What do you mean, when you say it keeps coming back?. Do you mean that it appears in the a new Windows Update listing or you cannot Uninstall it as suggested by MeOnMine, in Post #2.

If it keeps appearing in new Updates, right click on it & select Hide.

Yes, the update will not uninstall.

After reboot, I search for it again and it is still there.

I'll figure it out one way or another .. Once I decide to embark on a mission there is no turning back

    Thanks Anyway

Uncheck "Give me recommended updates" as per this post:

To uninstall it launch an Elevated Command Prompt and type Powershell

Press Enter and wait for the PS prompt to appear then type:

    wusa /uninstall /kb:2592687 /quiet /norestart - include the colon.

    Press Enter.

It seems I typed too soon. Even with the above command, this update keeps showing up as being installed after a reboot.

So I'm still trying to figure out how to remove it.

Thanks For the help. Here is the link of updates I'd like to get rid of.

    Hi,
You might verify your update settings are in order first and exclude Optional/ recommended updates from being mixed up with important updates,

    Thanks,

I'll see if that takes care of it at my next reboot.
