    Win 7 pro update

    Greetings.
    Mum's old computer pen 4 cpu cannot run 8 or 10. Runs Pro 7 SP1 32bit/X86
Originally would not update. Last mid 2016. Tried checking for updates a week ago and it checked for 2 hrs and delivered no info. Advised to carry out a reinstall saving all the files etc.
I now have no idea if it's upto date. Suspect that it's way out. But the problems is still the same, update goes around in circles all day with no info. Is there somewhere that I can get all the updates for Win 7 download and install them. I presume any that are already installed would just be rejected.
It seems to be one vicious circle and acquiring a new computer to take W10 id not viable.
I'm sure that this is not a new problem and has been resolved.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dism++x86/x64

    1. Run it, click on win7 ( it will highlight blue to show you have selected it ).

    2. Click Updates

    3. Click Scan

It downloads the database ( about 27mb ) first, then scans. When it has determined what updates you need, it offers to download and install them. The downloads are not very big because it uses MS express cabs.

It advises you to skip a handful. Install the rest, reboot, scan again. After second scan, I suggest you let it install the one that requires "exclusive access". It is the new servicing stack.

    Thank you

    Hi SIW2,
What can I say but brilliant.
Why oh why is this info. not more readily available. MS support could have saved over 12 wasted hours.
DISM++ got the ball rolling with about 160 updates and then the next day MS started to work and provided another 80+.
The time saving is also huge, I have memories of downloading direct from MS taking days.
Thank you very much for your assistance and pointing me towards DISM++
