Not a problem, just a general question regarding updates.

I have only recently acquired this PC, with Windows 7 Home Premium, Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1).
It is a Microsoft Authorised Refurbished one and has no problems. For the time being I have disabled updates.

This is because I have encountered so much trouble on my Windows 10 machine, with every update not only rectifying some problems but engendering others. I am in trepidation of what the damn thing is going to do next.

So, seeing that this Windows 7 machine doesn't exhibit any odd behaviour I thought that with a decent anti virus (Kaspersky Internet), and anti malware (MalwareBytes Premium), I might be able to sleep in peace.

    Opinions please.

You should also keep up to date with Windows Updates. With what seems to be an ever increase of cyber criminals, we need all the protection we can get & keeping your Operating System up to date is one of the important ones. of course having a good & updated anti virus & malware protection is also essential.

To add to what Ranger4 has posted.
I also check the other programs on my system for updates.

    Examples:
    Browser (Firefox)
    Adobe products
    Ect.
