    Security patch for WannaCry - wanted


    I am trying to find a Win-7 "security patch" for WannaCry ransomeware.
    After several hours on the web I am more confused than ever.

    After a lot of perpetual loops ending back at the same page, it looks like KB4012215 might be an/the answer.

    I stopped updating back at Win98, because each update usually ended in grief and more headaches.
    I have 3 XP (offline) machines that have never been updated, and were happily churning out AutoCad without a glitch, until I retired in 2007.

    Finally I found the Microsft Update Catalog
    and Search results for KBKB4012215
    I had to find out what embedded represents. Now I know :)

    Would I be correct in assuming the two "Windows 7" entries are for 32-bit and 64-bit ?
    Or is there something else I need to know

    I would appreciate any help, thank you :)

Belarc Advisor tells me that an important patch needs to be installed. It is Q2455033 which applies to MS Expression Encoder. When I go to the Windows Update site, I am informed that all is up-to-date. I cannot find a way to manually download this patch. Any ideas?
