Windows 7 Update Unable to Boot

Hello, first off sorry for my poor English skills I am Russian.

I seem to be having an issue with updating my Windows 7 x64 SP 1. I Tried using the included auto updater from the control panel and since I've neglected to update for years had over 100 missing updates. They seemed to install correctly but when I attempted to reboot it did not work and forced me to perform a system recovery to just before the update. The provided "system fix" could not fix the issue. I then attempted to install a single update to see if the issue persisted and just like last time I was forced to use system recovery.

I've tried to upload the CBS file but it seemed to be far too large to meet the size requirements. I've also downloaded the SURT tool but it seemed to be an update in itself so I decided not to install it until I know it won't force me to do a system recovery.

    ~Thanks

It is an asus machine. I'll take a look at the steps outlined in the article and report back after I've tried them.

EDIT: So my machine is actually made by "Republic of Gamers" so the boot menu looks nothing like the one in the article you linked. I've also looked for the update that causes the supposed problem and could not find it as one of the updates I have installed.

    Hi Haxor,
Not surprising you dont get any updates.
    Its a non-genuine system
Dell product key on an Asus machine
MS have picked up on it so until you buy a genuine licence no more updates.
the system appears to also have 95 corrupted files presumably from the bad install media

Hmm, seems very strange that is not considered genuine. I bought this machine in a fairly large store so I assumed it was completely legit. Thanks anyway for the help.
