Reinstall Win 7 now 200 updates

I reinstalled Windows 7 ... For two days my computer tried to download all 200 Windows updates and each time failed...and each time my computer took at least 4 hours to reverse what it tried to install

So, I changed the updates to 'notify me of update and not to download, let me decide' which has worked out fine, since I can do them one at a time. So far, I have installed 14 of the Windows update successfully...which was about 3 hours worth of time...not a problem...but this is going to take forever.

    The question:

The release dates range from 2012 to present. I started at the bottom of the list and decided to 'hide' anything that was 2012 to 2014...was that wrong?...I did about 30 'hides"?

The list doesn't show 'critical' or "important"....How should I go about this? So many. Just do updates from 2016? Just do 'roll ups' Any suggestions?
