    windows 7 home premium x64 sp1 Stuck

    Hello,

at 99 % of configuring service pack i get failed to configure service pack reverting changes.

    i already did:

    sfc /scannow
masked the first partition as active
    deleted windows update cache.
    ran the windows update readiness

i tryed to install it with wsus offline update. with windows update and just running the .exe
and i dont realy know what else i can try.

one thing left to notice. i did deleted an vlite key in the registery. if i didnt then the service pack 1 installer didnt even start(it failed with a warning)

its an asus laptop so and its not reinstalled or anything so its plain how asus made it.

Hope you guys have some idea's

    Kind regards

    Hi,

    Interesting,

a clean install is not exacly what i had in mind since then i would lose all my data.
my goal is to resolve this not to just delete everything and start over.

    Hi Yctn,

I opted for that route as you mentioned Vlite registry changes,
As the name implies its not a complete W7 and i dont know whats NOT installed, system wise.

You could try a repair install, that DOES keep your data.
