    won't update

So, it's a fairly fresh windows 7 install. Go to update and says has 3 important update. It apparently downloaded the files. I look later and says installing update. Well it just hangs there, for days. I run avast, and have not tried malware bites. Any thoughts?

    Hi Drmax,

    Nothing stopping updates there.

looks like you installed W7 jan 2016, (not with SP1)
MSE should have kicked in so you should be protected.

See this thread, look at post #2 Thrashzone follow the instructions there

I followed your link. I removed avast and installed MSE and will leave this as is. I think I had uninstalled it previously for avast. Ok, so I got it working. Unsure what did it. I put the updates in manual and it took. I then put it back in auto. KB3020369 was already there, but in step 5 KB3172605 is not and when I attempt to install says my machine is not compatible. Unsure if I need this or not. Let me know. Believe I'm good for now. Thank you
