Nope, havent done that yet. As it is just for Python to install i rather wait a bit longer for a solution then reinstall W7 again....
Okay. It was just an option.

    Hi Ray,
All the errors reported appear to be related to Avast.

    Uninstall in SAFE MODE
Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal

    Then try SP1

hi Roy - thanks for your input !
I have de-installed Avast in Save Mode (the tool mentioned also something about Microsoft security essentials but left that like it was....)and re-installed windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe BUT NO LUCK. Same thing : some essential components are missing...
Do i need to rerun SFC or other scans ?
EDIT : did a new SUR scan - result 8 errors - still due to Avast ?

    Hi Ray,

    More to fix
Do you still have SFCfix on your desktop, if not re-download.

Attached is a Zip -- Download it to your desktop then drag it into SFCfix.exe
    Run it.

    DO NOT CHANGE ITS NAME.

Please close any other programs you are running.

    REBOOT
    Then rerun
    SURT - kb947821
    post the log

    Hi Ray,
the zip file appears to have the wrong name

    it MUST BE

    SFCFix.zip

    NOT ....zip(1)
