Updates are listed but I did not install them
I am indebted to Brink for his thread on each Black Tuesday. I choose to install the Security only each month and the .Net stuff. I hide all the roll-ups and not wanted driver updates.
I keep a database of all black Tuesday offerings I get and note the number and date issued. Looking back in this database and the list of updates installed, I have noticed some 'extras' in the 'View Update History/Updates Installed'.
June 2017 - KB 4022722 security only in both lists.
July 2017 - all cancelled.
August 2017 - KB4034679 security only installed on both lists. I did not install the roll-up. Extras - KB4014596 installed but not by me. Searched in Windows update catalogue - comes back as not found. This was about a quality roll up in June for .Net and was one of the cancelled updates. Extras - KB4019990 - installed but not by me - something to do with .Net. - goes back to a May update. Still not in my list. The .Net update that I did install is KB4019112.
September 2017 - KB4038779 security only - installed by me and is in both lists. I did not install the roll-up. Extras - KB4040980 installed but not by me.
The same happened in May 2017. From my list of hidden updates and Microsofts, it would appear that I was not offered any of these 'extras'.
Since I got my computer on Oct 2016, I have hidden a total of 30+ updates. Three times I have had them offered again on a black Tuesday - most annoying.
All security and .Net dlls and installs have been done via the MS catalogue.
I hope somebody can shed some light on this.
Rgds
