Error Code 80070246 On Windows Monthly Security Rollups

    Win 7 - (2) 256 GB SSDs / (2) 2 TB SSHDs.
OS on 1st SSD Win 7.
All other important updates install, only the last 2 Monthly rollups have been problematic

    Thinks I have tried:

    SFC /SCANNOW
Seatools (Seagate) finds all storage devices in prefect health

    Windows Update TroubleShooter
    Tried turning off Firewall

Downloading / running from MS web site, rec'd message ...."This Update is not applicable to your computer".

I did search MS websites and the search results had links to solutions that basically the answer to all my problems would be upgrading to Win 10 :)

So I tried downloading from MajorGeeks Site and it installed successfully. Results below

    Hi Jack,

to be brutally honest i have NO idea about Unicode.
But there is light on the horizon, The 2nd tool i asked you to run sfcfix, comes from a dedicated windows update forum. Sysnative.
They have a much bigger archive and expertise than I.

Please post the SFC log and the latest CBS log in thier forum.
note they do tend to be very busy, but thier good.
to help speed things up, so can you also
    Retrieve Components Hive
    1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
    2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
    3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
    4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service and just provide the link here.

    Title your post
    UNICODE problem sfcfix.
note - see last symbol should be an S
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\Components\x86_microsoft-windows-mlang.resource¥_

I do find it odd that only 2 of the 4 referenced errors were reported
Ignore that its posting AMD X64, thats a roll-over from the past
