November 2017 update Malicious Software Removal Tool

I noticed with this months updates (4) marked important, that this one
"Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - November 2017 (KB890830)"
was not checked like other three. I don't recall this in past, which makes me think it should be optional though it's in important category. Wondering why MS wouldn't have default check it.

    Looking for opinions:
Do you feel it is important or optional? Any advantage to running online from microsoft.com or installing as update? Or handling it in some other manner?

I do use MSE for security if that makes a difference.

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - November 2017 (KB890830)

I have the same issue. It was not checked whilst the other three updates were. Why is this? Should I install it or wait?

Struggling7. Yes, you should install Malicious Software Removal Tool as it's important. Yes, usually it is ticked to install, so you should always check to see if that is so & tick it if it's not.

Using Microsoft Security Essentials does not have anything to do with MSRT. I use MSE & MSRT was ticked in my case, but I always check to see that it is.

kred65. Follow the info above for Struggling & install it.

I recommend you read my response to the other thread on this update. Caution is advised in respect of installing the MSRT this month, it has problems.

I did Not tick MSRT!?- After Updts were installed, when I clicked to see which updates were installed, I got a pop-up asking me
to scan with MSRT (done), then on next reboot I got the Updts were installed pop-up again?

    Now I don't get a Close pop-up when closing (X out) of Any browser/program (Win 7 32-bit)???
