    Hi Invincible,

Windows updates are malware free, your infection would have come from another download.

Updates are now cumulative, you only need to run these 2,
links for them from these posts

    November 14, 2017 - KB4048960 (Security-only update) Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

    November 14, 2017 - KB4048957 (Monthly Rollup) Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

If your computer is functioning well, then in the future run only the security updates

Actually, you run either one or the other, not both. If you do the Monthly Rollup, it will include all updates going back to the dawn of time Win 7.

If you do the Security-only up date, you will get only that month's updates. It will be necessary to go back to the next month's updates since you last updated, then do each month in chronological order until you are caught up.

I prefer the Security-only updates since I no longer trust MS to not sneak spyware, etc. on my computer (these aren't the same as viruses. Others may prefer the convenience of the cumulative monthly rollups.

Btw, you are far more likely to get a virus by not doing the updates than by doing them.
