Update on April 10 reset to default settings

The SURT link white-paged, no download. The CBS.zip is 60 megs. Not even Google Drive will take it.

This regards the update on April 10th consisting of KB2952664, and KB4093118. I updated and re-started and everything was fine. The next morning both my 7 machines were set back to the default account settings. The second one I re-started and all was well. The first one I had already tried restoring to a few points and none restored. I found out about SFC, ran it, didn't fix anything.

There are no guest accounts on either machine.

All explorer settings were default. Many of the desktop settings are not saving, like screen saver. My pinned Start Menu items are missing.

IE won't save bookmarks, won't allow downloads, won't allow adding search providers.

Some more info. Compared to machine 2 C: is missing $Recycle.Bin, Documents and Settings, RECYCLER, and (perhaps most injuring of all) System Volume Information. Users is missing All Users, Default User, and <computer name>. (I have a third machine (dual-boot) that is booted into XP. 7 partition C is similar to machine 2 except in Users there is no user name folder, only the <computer name>.)

So it would seem the update merged the computer name and user name folders, and scrubbed the others.

Here's a link to the CBS pre-today. (Had to use the second computer and Google Drive account.)

I was able to run/install SURT. It apparently did a whole lot of Nothing.
