Trying to figure out why I'm getting updates published years ago today instead of at the time they were published. It's the same machine that it was back then, just with better hardware.

As far as I know MS through Windows Updates keeps a check on your installation & when a change is detected & an appropriate Update is applicable, it gets installed. So a change in hardware or adding additional Microsoft software may mean installing earlier updates.

That was my first thought as well, but the hardware didn't even exist at the time. We're talking almost 7 year gaps in some cases. I think the earliest I saw was June or August of 2011.

What exactly did the updates say (are they in the installed updates folder)?

I would think that you have recently installed some new software which has triggered the updates.
Are there any new entries in Programs and Features?

    I hope this helps!

Nothing major on my end. The only recent change was in temporarily uninstalling the KB that affected RDP connections until I can upgrade the other machines, but that took place over a week past. I'm not incredibly concerned about it, but it's a bit odd to be getting these just now,
