    Windows Update failing 80072ee2 80072efe

I purchased a HP ProOne 600 G2 Intel i5-6500 All-in-One in December 2107 with Win 7 Pro 64 bit SP 1 installed. I did not load any other patches via windows updates until 2 days ago (manually - KB3172605) due to other internet issues I was encountering (another thread for this?) due to application client connectivity failing to pull from server about 10 days ago (not sure if it's related to http/https mandates). I loaded that patch manually due to windows update failing with the hope of clearing that issue to download other patches to clear up the perceived issue with internet communications. I was also attempting to manually load KB3140245 since this is related to TLS1.2 but received error stating "The update is not applicable to your computer". I tried both versions x86/x64 but both returned the same error.

I was attempting to follow this post in an attempt to resolve. I can confirm that KB3020369 and KB3125574 were factory loaded and I manually loaded KB3172605.
windows update - Windows 7 Help Forums

Sorry for long winded round about explanation but I here now to find a resolution to the windows update problem. I've attached the CBS logs post sfc and SURT run. Below is from the windows update log and didn't pull the entire log for viewing at this point. Let me know if you need any other information.
    Thanks in advance.

PS I'm receiving a 404 error attempting to load CBS zip; so i'll try to load after submitting this.

    404 on upload

Hi - i'm still getting 404 error attempting to load the CBS zip file. Strange because it's getting to over 90% on the upload before the error. Any thoughts?

I was able to pull some of the logs from CBS and hopefully I attached them correctly. Let me know if this is sufficient or more information is needed.

    thanks

    Hi Betterdays,

Certainly looks like its a connection problem, CBS/SURT logs are both clean.

Please reset to default the following

Internet Options - via control panel, Advanced tab
    Firewall

please run this tool, copy/paste the output i would like to see where its currently sending the request for updates, CBS is showing an unusual source.

I performed "restore Advanced Settings" on Advanced tab in Internet Options and rebooted.

I tried getting to this site but it hangs on "Waiting for download.microsoft.com..." for firefox and I get "this site can't be reached in Chrome. I've had issues with other http sites as well.

Is this something i can download on another computer and put on thumb-drive?

And it seems I've been having Norton LiveUpdate Issues - last update was 7/4/18 - this was the error

"Norton Security has encountered an error: 8921, 253"

Not sure why but the Norton Autofix worked one time and has since failed today.

    thanks

Not sure why but I was just now able to access the MGA diag tool link and run Norton liveupdate successfully. I've posted tool output below.

FYI - i have Norton and Malwarebytes currently running. Just ran Norton update again and it failed (not sure why it would work intermittently). Also, when accessing remote app server via Firefox, the connection seems to consistently lag (8-15 secs) at the "Performing a TLS handshake to www..." before completing.

I'll work on removing Norton but wouldn't this issue occur when i first loaded both if there's a contention problem?
