    How do you stop Windows updates from changing my settings?


    For instance, often when Windows does an update it changes the default program from what I have it set to to Windows Media player.

    Don't know the answer to your question - in my case, every so often after WU, WMP starts as if it is the first time it has ever run and asks me to set the various media defaults. WU also occasionally changes the documents folder back to "My Documents" (from what I have it renamed to). Have learnt to live with it, annoying but really a minor irritation in the overall scheme of things
