Some updates wont install even when tried manually

OK, that tells us that you don't have the annoying telemetry update that kept trying to get everyone to update to Windows 10.

The tips box is saying that you have a more recent version of Internet Explorer installed than the one shown.

Wow, been at this for a while, never observed that much corruption!

Your resolution is Repair Install, it would take me till 2019 to locate and upload all those missing files and correct the component hive corruption.

Make sure you have your 25 character product key. If it's not on the case, or inside a laptop battery compartment, you can obtain it from your computer. It's encrypted, well actually in hexadecimal format. You can use KeyFinder | Magical Jelly Bean to locate and convert the key to alphanumeric.
You want the CD key not Product ID. I usually copy and paste it into, say, notepad and print it to avoid typos. I also have a batch file that does the same and you can simply click on the popup with the key displayed and it will copy it to your clipboard. I always place it in a zip file, as upload and download in SevenForums creates a script error without doing so (bit fiip as I determined using Olly Degbugger to read the assembly language code).

You cannot correct the 19,000 errors running from a booted DVD or USB as you would a fresh/clean install, repair disk or whatever it won't work. You don't want to do a fresh/clean install because that would format the disk and you would loose all your files, programs, folders, music, you had. You errors would be fixed but you'd loose all your stuff! Making a disk image/backup, mount the disk as another drive and it would permit you to copy and paste files, folders, etc. but you'd loose any programs you installed. You can't copy and paste the programs because there are registry entries and other data (including product keys) that you could not copy/paste and the programs wouldn't work.

No, I don't mean reinstall as new. Repair install is done from within your running windows. Britec video is pretty clear.

Did you watch the short video by Brian? Watch it, even a few times to feel comfortable with the procedure. It works for the most part the same a fresh/clean install but not from DVD or USB is done while you are using windows 7, i.e. within windows.

You'll have to extract the files from the ISO, with 7-zip to easiest location Desktop. I usually create a new folder on the desktop and extract it to there. This prevents the possibility that 7-zip doesn't create the container folder and you end up with a bunch of files on your desktop.

Open the folder and find Setup and click on it. You will see the exact same screen as you would a complete re install, follow the steps and when it gets to the screen with Upgrade that is what you choose. What happens is your current version of Windows 7 saved as Windows.old including all you files, folders, installed programs, music, video, etc. Your damaged OS Win7 is replaced with a fresh copy or as the selection you would choose Upgrade, and then all your installed programs, files, folder, etc are installed into the fresh OS Win7.

Once everything is installed, you will be presented with the same series of screens as a fresh/clean install a reboot or two and you'll be at your desktop just as it was prior to repair install, including all your icons, files, folders, everything is there and all your missing or corrupt cat, mum, manifest, and Component Hive errors will be no more, i.e. fixed. You will have a plethora of updates, 240 + to install, which is why I recommended using DISM++. You can let windows update do it thing if you wish but it will take you days and reboots up the *** to finally install everything.

I usually recommend that OPs Google. Such as if you're not sure of how to extract an ISO with 7-zip Google it with wording similar to the bold italic text in this sentence, and either select an entry to read or click the bar at the top of the Google page and select Videos.

Ive perused many of Brian's videos and a I'm a member of Britec Forum. I'm more of the let me see then let me do person than a read a laundry list of steps and try to follow them, but that's me.

Although this is not common practice, I could assist you with remote access, my preference is TeamViewer. If you wish for me to provide this service, I am more than willing to do so.

If you're not familiar with remote access, it permits remote operation of your computer. My screen will be exactly as your is, we will both be able to move the mouse cursor, type, download, etc. The connection even remains if the computer has to be rebooted, although I'm not entirely sure if that takes place with Repair Install.

You install TeamViewer. You open the console and with a click create a unique access password which you convey to me, I type it into my TeamViewer and it creates a secure tunnel between your machine and mine. You or I have the ability to terminate the connection at any time. You and I would have the ability to ask and answer questions with Video and Audio if we both have mikes and video camera which I don't. I usually use notepad to volley question and answer if needed.

After reading your posts I don't think this would be necessary for you to perform a Repair Install, but, as I said, I'm more than willing to help, including remote access if you wish. It's up to you! My intention, as with all assistance I provide, it to correct the errors on your computer and get it healthy, happy, and hopefully impart some knowledge about what is/was done.
