I did it manually and no errors. I've never had an error installing updates manually downloading and installing. Perhaps there are more updates available to test with windows update. I will check. If there are updates and I get the same error I can run SURT and post the logs.

Sounds like you're good to go with the problem update.

Apparently not. I ran the updates that came in for patch Tues and most of them failed with the same error as before. So I’m running the SURT tool right now, and will report back.

Update: A log was not produced, so I'm not sure where to go from here.

Open Control Panel and go to Troubleshooting. Near the top, select Yes for "Do you want the most up to date Content.........."

Under System and Security, run the option to Fix Problems with Windows Update.

When it's done, try updating again.

I did that and the updates still failed. The troubleshooter didn’t fix anything unfortunately.

I guess the troubleshooter didn't find any problems.

Can you install the updates manually as you did with the initial update?

I did some of them but the ones that have a list of files honestly seem overwhelming, not to mention I don't know what I'm doing with the ones that don't install with some odd message about a command line.

There should have been only a couple of updates in the November campaign except possibly if your have Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft Security Essentials. Would you take screen shots of the important and optional updates and post them here? Or you can list which ones they are.

I thought you were able to install the .net framework update manually. Maybe I misunderstood and you only installed the 4.7.2.

Try installing only the first Office update. If it fails, please provide the message you said you're getting about the command line.
