Fixing CheckSUR.log problems (error 0x80070002)

Hello Everyone,

Well, I am at my wits end and have tried many, many different fixes for these errors I have found online and nothing seems to work.

If anyone has some insight on this, please respond and I will submit whatever resources that are necessary to help me fix this annoying issue.

My CheckSUR.log is showing a lot of unfixable errors all related to this patch and my Windows Update continues to fail while trying to install:

KBKB4338821

Getting errors that look like this:

(f) CBS Watchlist Component Missing 0x80070002 x86_windowssearchengine-structuredquery_31bf3856ad364e35_0.0.0.0_none_cabea595b656c1e4 Package_574_for_KB4338821~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.11 Package registry presence failed, possibly an orphaned package on package watchlist

Thank you so very, very much in advance for any help you can give me....

Thank You!

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got this resolved, as painful as it was. Turned out to be a digital signature issue with all of the replacement packages I used to repair the catalog....etc, etc, etc. I had to manually remove them from the filesystem and registry, hide the proposed Windows Updates, do a bunch of other verification and manual "cleaning" along with some permission tweaking, and now my Windows Updates are all in place, not failing, and I am up to date.

Even though I didn't get any reply or resolution from anyone, thanks to everybody that may have read my post and thought about the issue or was trying to come up with a resolution that I don't know about.

I will mark this as solved now.....

Thank You,

BP
