The error code I get when I click "Show me the details for the error that requires this change" is 0xC004C008
I previously had this copy of windows working on the same computer except the cpu installed was a AMD X6 1090t. I now have installed a AMD FX-8320e. I clicked on new system instead of system upgrade, not sure if that would cause any problem.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Leaves,

Nothing showing as being out of place, as you have a system builder key changing the CPU doesnt invalidate the install

Try phone activation:

Activate Windows 7 manually:
1. Click Start, and in the Search box type : slui.exe 4

2. Press ENTER on your Keyboard

3. Select your Country.
4. Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.

Yes if you are nice and explain the situation they will more than likely give you an activation code to enter in to manually activate windows and then you'll be good.
