Windows Suddenly Says It's Deactivated; Cannot Run Windows Update, etc

(I also posted this on the Windows 7 forum on Microsoft's Website.)

    Original problem:

    Hello!

    Laptop Specs:
    Toshiba Satellite s55-a5377
    Intel Core i7-4700MQ @ 2.40 GHz
    1TB 5400 RPM SATA HDD
    16GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit (Activated with Genuine Product ID)

I have automatic updates turned on on my parent's laptop. Back in October certain updates started to fail to install. At the time, we found multiple errors, spyware, and viruses. My dad thought it was something he accidentally clicked on in IE 11. After running Disk Cleanup, Chkdsk, and Defrag, I thought the issues were solved. However, later Chkdsk scans found more bad or missing/bad clusters and fixed them (I hope!)

Also around this time, Windows Update started failing when installing certain updates. The updates include (with error code):

2018-10 Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64 based Systems (KB4462927) - Failed Error Code: 800703F1

    2018-10 Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB4462500) - Failed Error Code: 800703F1

2018-11 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64 based systems (KB4467107) - Failed Error Code: 800703F1

    2018-11 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB4467240) - Failed Error Code: 800703F1

2018-12 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64 based systems (KB4471318) - Failed Error Code: 800703F1

2018-12 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Fram
    ework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB4471987) - Failed Error Code: 800703F1

I hide the updates and tried finding help for the error code listed, but nothing came up in Windows Help or Google. How do I fix this? Windows Essentials did not find any viruses or anything during full scan.
I managed to use Windows Easy Transfer to backup settings, files, programs, etc to another laptop.

    Now for the updated problem:

When you go to About in the Settings menu, under Product ID, it tells me that it's not available. The Windows Genuine box has also disappeared. This computer had Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit installed out of the box, when purchased in 2014.

    I also get:
You may be a victim of software counterfeiting.

To use all Microsoft Windows features, such as all updates from Windows Update; get the latest updates; and receive product support, your copy of Windows must be validated as genuine."

Why would this be coming up? I looked at the bottom of the laptop (and also on mine since mine is the same laptop; I just installed Windows 10 on it during the free period, where I didn't do so on my parent's computer), and I did not find a COA sticker. I looked under our computers and found a sticker, but it was for Windows 8.1. The computers came with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed as part of a downgrade.
Plus, now we're getting an error that says that Windows needs to be reinstalled; which I will gladly do, and the screen has a watermark saying Windows is deactivated and not genuine. No new programs or hardware have been installed.

I'm at a loss as to what to do. I don't think the hard drive is failing, but my dad already made it clear that he's not taking it in for service. Instead, he wants to buy a new computer, which I'm trying to sway him away from. Everything I find is Windows 10 and they already told me they don't want the new OS. At least I managed to use Windows Easy Transfer to get their stuff on another laptop as a backup.

Also slui.exe 4 doesn't seem to work. I can't get it to load, but will try again on Thursday when my parents go bowling.

Not sure what this means, but it's a start. The computer is still usable, albeit slow.
I apologize for the long post, but I really need help with this. It's tax season, and my dad seems to always have a problem with the computer this time of year. It drives me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated asap.

    Thank you for reading.

    Hi raptormoonx

Here's the culprit, from your report - WMI store corruption

    Licensing Data-->
    C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs(1333, 5) (null): 0xC000009C

    standard fix's
    please run

    CHKDSK C: /R

    reboot

    sfc/scannow

    reboot

Then run the Mgadiag tool from here please, you used an out of date version.
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=52012

I am however somewhat concerned, by this

I thought the issues were solved. However, later Chkdsk scans found more bad or missing/bad clusters and fixed them (I hope!)

IF the chkdsk/r comes back with more bad blocks its possible your hard drive is on its way out and that the blocks contained the WMI info - causing this and the slowness of the system

There should be a diagnostics program within the BIOS, run it and the manufacturers one as well (SSD)
