PROGRESS i can get it to a boot menu by pressing F12 on start up.
selected the DVD drive with that disk we made yesterday. it is installing windows 7.!!!!!!! what do i do now? thanks hit a snag, it wants a driver. will post a pic |

the DVD drive is working so i doubt that is the driver it is looking for. see pics above
i have the details of the hard drive from that thing you sent before. just trying to save the pic on the chromebook does this help? |

Hi rick33,
During installation you should delete all partitions on the (C:) drive leaving you a single un-allocated partition on which you install Win 7 on. Also, you should remove all other attached drives. What is in the (F:) drive? What is system (D:). Is that the recovery partition? Was there an option to recover or reset to factory when you booted? This is why using a bootable USB is sometimes better than using a DVD! |

[2] What is on the Kingston Data Traveller 2.0 USB? [all other drives should be removed during installation]! [3] Have you got a Drivers CD/DVD that came with the laptop? System (D:) could be the recovery partiton on (C:)! Please see my previous post. |

yes i started from the DVD
i dont knowingly have any drivers. disk F is probably the dongle^ for the mouse there was no option of reset to factory specs. wish there was! am i going to be inundated for drivers that i do not have? thanks |

Now you have my computer potentially working.
i used F12 to set it to start from the DVD put in the recovery DVDs seems to be reading them so far. But what do i do about the battery i removed? just put it back in? is it dud? thanks so much |
