the latest windows update cannot be removed

    10 Jan 2019
    It automatically updated
    Caused various problems.
Try several previous dates in system restore but each one fails.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks guys

Ps I would rather avoid going back to the factory state!

Which update are we talking about specifically?

Most of us have automatic WU [Windows Update] turned off. We will only install the latest updates once we know that there are OK and will not cause any problems/issues!

I can see the second one is the January 8, 2019 - KB4480970 (Monthly Rollup).

The first one seems to be the problem because when I Googled it, it comes up in Japanese and says something about Patch defect. Can not access shared folder after applying KB4480970!

    I hope this helps!

The laptop restarted but I did not get a message of whether it restored to an earlier time.

Open Windows Updates & select Installed Updates, located at the LH bottom of the screen. Wait for it to update & then Right Click mouse on the Update you want to uninstall & select that. This will uninstall it.

However, when Windows checks for Updates later it will show up a an update to be installed. Don't install it, but Right Click mouse on it & select Hide. This will prevent it from reappearing.
