    Did you receive the update through WU [Windows Update]?
    I say this because it appears to be an old update!

    This might also help => How to troubleshoot definition update issues for Windows Defender.

    I hope this helps!

    Update System Specifications

    Please update your system specifications in your UserCP => Edit System Spec setup. It will help us to help you!

    Hi Dynentan,
    Please run sfc /scannow from Administrative Command Prompt.
    Click type cmd in textbox, right click it when it appears and choose run as administrator.
    at the > type sfc /scannow
    This will manually start the system file checker and check for an replace system files. If there are some other issues they will be in the CBS.log
    SURT performs additional checks, then tries to replace or repair and creates another report, CheckSUR.log
    SURT is a self-extracting installer I created to help automate the process for less computer savvy individuals that traverse SevenForums seeking assistance.
    Being that your system specs omit x64 x32 or x86, please download and run the appropriate SURT for your computer from my footer, linked to my OneDrive account.
    A copy of your CBS log with CheckSUR.log will appear on your desktop
    Please zip/compress and upload it.
    If it's larger than 8 MB, delete the .cab zip/compressed files from the CBS folder on your desktop, zip and upload please.

    I have had problems installing the windows defender update since last year. I tried to inquire about the fact from the Microsoft forums without an answer.

    The only solution I found was to download the latest definitions directly from the official website.

    * https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/definitions

    This is the topic that I opened in the Microsoft forums

    Windows 7 → Error 8050800C al actualizar definiciones de Windows - Microsoft Community

    It is in Spanish because it is my native language.

    I also opened a topic here in the forum without an answer.

    Error 8050800c definitions Windows defender

    Hi Hijin25,
    If you wish to have assistance, please start your own thread and we will be happy to help you.
    Please follow Windows Update Posting Instructions
    We will fix your Win Update problems together.

    Free programs. I would recommend using another antivirus than Windows Defender.
    Adding Anti-Exploit, & Anti-Ransomware too.

    SIMPLIX - Running/Adding Updates Procedure

    Download the latest SIMPLIX UpdatePack [for Win 7 SP1 x86-x64 / 2008 R2 SP1 x64] from here => SIMPLIX UpdatePack.

    Run the UpdatePack => click Install.

    It will update your OS automatically [it will re-boot a couple of times during the update process which is normal] and DOESN’T include any telemetry updates or processor checks [disables/patches detection of processor generation and hardware support when scanning or downloading updates through WU]. It installs the correct USB3 drivers and cleans up when it has finished. It requires NO user input.

    SUGGESTION: Create a system image FISRT [just in case!]. This way, if things go wrong, you will be able to restore your OS back to the exact same state that it was when the system image was made in a very short time. There are two imaging programs which are very popular among members here, the first is AOMEI Backupper Standard [FREE], and the second is Macrium Reflect [FREE].

    I hope this helps!

    no thanks, id rather get the official updates from microsoft
    anyway, i have been updating windows 7 since i made this thread, and its still downloading updates
    it seems almost impossible to do because it will either say updates failed, or it will say windows is updated, and then the next days it says theres 42 new updates available.. isnt there some way of downloading all the updates all at once, officially from microsoft?
