Not usually, if it does fix what it is designed to, and or it then reports no issues on the CheckSUR.log then it's usually a registry entry or entries and that is sometimes too time consuming to correct, that is why you run SFC /SCANNOW, SURT or my AutoSURT64 which is surt but it places the CBS Folder on you desktop for you, thank you very much. Then you upload that folder, I look at CheckSUR.log, CBS.log, may ask for WindowsUpdate.log most likely not. If there are missing cat, mum or manifests, I search my 800,000 files on my server, uploaded them within my automated tool, you click, click, it installs those files, runs SURT, SURT retrieves the files, installs them in the WinSxS folder and then attempts to place them in the needed OS location. If everything goes totally right, and there is not another issue or issues, then Windows Update works. Well, most probably not, then we look further into the LOGS to find the next level of ISSUE(S). Too many levels, or too many issues, a Repair Install is then the easiest solution.
Here are my instructions for repair install. However, please run my
Auto SURT64 and post CBS Folder that will appear on your desktop when AutoSURTx64/SURT has completed.
You may follow along as I do and I will explain in plain people speak, what, why how, if you wish.
I don't like to have to explain beforehand as I am now because, OP's have a tendency to not respond and wasting my free time to, well, you get my drift, do what we ask, provide what we request, then ask questions and you will find, we help, answer and fix. Exactly what you are on SevenForums requesting & WE are not, well you know.
