    Looks like MS have fixed it.... KB4524157 is not being offered on the auto updates chanel now.... and KB4519976 which is being offered installed fine. Windows Update is now not reporting any important updates available. Thanks.

    So this seems to be resolved for now at least.

    This (or previous) update also added a whole bunch of new services:

    ActiveX Installer (AxInstSV)
    WLan autoconfig service (Wlansvc)
    WWan autoconfig (WwanSvc)
    KTRM for distributed transaction coordinator (KtmRm)
    Remote Desktop configuration (SessionEnv)
    Remote Desktop services (TermService)
    Internet Explorer ETW collector service (IEEtwCollectorService)
    Sensor Monitoring service (SensrSvc)
    Homegroup listener service (HomeGroupListener)
    Tablet PC input service (TabletInputService)
    Net.Msmq listener adapter (NetMsmqActivator)
    PnP-X IP bus enumerator (IPBusEnum)
    PNRP Machine name publication service (PNRPAutoReg)
    Quality Windows Audio Video experience (QWAVE)
    Remote access auto connection manager (RasAuto)
    Performance counter DLL host (PerfHost)
    Performance logs and alerts (pla)
    SNMP Trap service (SNMPTRAP)
    Application Identity service (AppIDSvc)
    SPP notification service (sppuinotify)
    Secondary logon service (seclogon)
    TPM base services (TBS)
    Credential manager (VaultSvc)
    Windows event collector (Wecsvc)
    WINHTTP web proxy Auto-Discovery service (WinHttpAutoProxySvc)

    These are some of the services I don't recognize being there before. Must be Windows 10 stuff. What the hell should I do with these? Some of them sound like big security risks too.

    Yes, Windows 7 is a security risk.
    Really?

    Hi Aapo,

    I have put this together which has worked for a few members. The latest WU’s require that the following are installed FIRST . . .

    KB4490628 [SSU]
    KB4474419 [SHA-2]
    KB4516655 [SSU]

    If any of the above WU’s are NOT installed, then download the .msu files below in the same order to the desktop and install them =>

    KB4490628 [.msu] => KB4490628 - Servicing stack update for Windows 7 SP1 - [12-Mar-2019].
    KB4474419 [.msu] => KB4474419 SHA-2 code signing support update for Windows 7 SP1 - [10-Sep-2019].
    KB4516655 [.msu] => KB4516655 [New] - Servicing stack update for Windows 7 SP1 - [10-Sep-2019].

    Now run WU's again!

    I hope this helps!

    I double-checked that I had these updates installed, I did. Then I installed KB4519976 which is the new version of this October 4 monthly rollup. It installed fine and issue is now resolved. Thank you for your help.
