In case you lose the DVD, just COPY the DVD to an external HDD!

It is hard to work with an individual on their problem when others, trying to help, cause confusion. As I state repeatedly, just because you can force an update to install, doesn't mean your computer issue is now resolved. Usually that is not the case... That is the reason for the Windows Update Posting Instructions. When you run SFC /Scannow, SFCFix.exe by Niemiro, M$'s System Update Readiness Tool, or preferably my AutoSURT SURT inhanced. The CheckSUR.log is created & the CBS.log is updated. Interpreting the log requires some time and practice, if SURT is clean, in place Upgrade will most likely work. If not, there are usually major registry corruptions, yes, fix that too, or I know those who CAN, my Win Update Instructors
RE: In Place Upgrade
If you extract the contents of the ISO or a DVD with SP1 to a folder on your desktop with 7zip you can run setup.exe from there.
Make sure you have your 25 character product key.
KeyFinder | Magical Jelly Bean is good. I usually copy it into notepad and save it on USB and to desktop.
You want the CD Key not Product ID from MJB
When you run setup.exe
follow prompts to and click Upgrade
piece of cake, I do them all the time.
If upgrade fails, then...well...that's why I'm here to help you make it work!

DISM++, you install it, you run it
you click update left side of window
you click scan
it scans and lists the updates available
you pick and choose what you want
if it has a troubled history it will tell you and let you choose to install it or not.
If you have enough RAM you can install almost every update without restart.
As with Windows Update, it is not very proficient with order of updates, therefore, some might fail.
Try again.
then run
sfc /scannow
AutoSURT64
and look at the CheckSUR.log
Everything should be clean.
