If you watch Brian's video, it works exactly like that!
I find that including videos in instructions always helps, always!

I ran disc cleanup low disc - successful. Ran setup.exe from folder called, Repair_Inst on my desktop. - after a few prompts, received: "Compatibility Report preventing Upgrade dialog" "can't upgrade 64bit to 32 bit version and vice versa" "go online to get xbit version of windows install disc" Before we sort this out (assume I need to run eicfg_removal_utility???), I am going to make a system image using AOMEI backup per review of your instructions since I don't trust MS bakcup either! could you provide a DL link (non crapware version please) for this and install intructions. Thanks, Snick!

Your iso from your onedrive tools page, Win7 Repair Tools including AOMEI.iso, doesn't seem to contain AOMEI but looks like an install disc:

    Cittizin7 check your PM,
You are not an idiot Justin, just learning.
The program you are referring to was created by SIW2. It is Windows Preinstallation Environment with AOMEI and other Networking tools.
    IT stuff,
We cannot provide Windows 7 ISO via SevenForums upload/download, per forum rules.
You can use RUFUS if you wish to burn that ISO you referred to USB.
Then you can run it by booting from USB.
    It will boot into WinPE
Works on UEFI & Legacy systems

Created the bootable WinPE - AOMEI usb, going to boot to it and hope running AOMEI is fairly selfexplanatory.

OK, I finished backups. Now what do I do about: Ran setup.exe from folder called, Repair_Inst on my desktop. - after a few prompts, received: "Compatibility Report preventing Upgrade dialog" "can't upgrade 64bit to 32 bit version and vice versa" "go online to get xbit version of windows install disc" I assume I need to run eicfg_removal_utility???

SO I ran my original setup dvd and received the following error (bottom) just as with the iso I dragged off the disc to run from desktop previously. After doing some googling I think I'm going to post this to https://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/ unless someone tells me not to. I haven't searched that subforum yet, but will before I post. FYI, I followed the steps at Repair Install - I disabled my antivirus. The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue. You can’t upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings. 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc.
