KB3185319 is being offered again in Nov 2019, CAUTION?

Logged into win updt this am, KB3185319 shows needed (three years old update). Since IE11 has been updated a few times since then, I tried to research it. Well, went ahead and installed it BUT then a new Nov 2019 windows update popped up to update windows update. Is this (or could it be) a way to DISABLE windows update or features for the Jan 2020 cease of MS to support win 7? This new update is in the forum BUT it will only pop up AFTER installing that 3 yr old KB3185319 update. Any thoughts?

    Hi MW7User,

The KB4483187 IE11 update back in Dec. 2018 did fully replace the IE11 KB3185319 update a few months ago and Windows Update stopped offering KB3185319 once KB4483187 was offered and installed. Now that the KB4483187 IE11 update is no longer being offered thru Windows Update & WSUS, they offer KB3185319 instead. Installing KB4483187 NOW (or recently) will NOT prevent WU & WSUS from offering KB3185319.

it's a major screw up on Microsoft's part with the Windows Update "metadata" for KB3185319 (they've been fussing around with the WU metadata for months and can't figure out how to prevent KB3185319 from being offered thru WU, even with recent Win7 + IE11 updates from Nov. 2019)

just install it even if you have the more recent IE11 updates to satisfy WU
