    Error Installing offline Service pack 1 to Win7 Error Code 0x80070422

    Hey

    I'm trying to install Service pack 1 to Windows 7 Home basic but I keep getting Error Code 0x80070422.

    The Windows update service is definately running and I have tried "Automatic" and "delayed" to no avail.

    Do I need to be online when installing this update? It is an offline installer.

    Thanking in advance!

    No, you should be able to install while offline. See in this guided walk-through helps...

    @glenhall

    Browse through all the services, & check to see if Windows Modules Installer is disabled, if so set to manual and try installing.
    Sometime Windows Defender will cause problems with SP1 & IE9 as well.

    Any reason why you don't use installation media that already includes SP1 ?

    My Windows 7 package does not include SP1 but also don;t necessarily want to re-install everything.
    Still trying to sort it out.

    Thanks

    Why don't you get a Win7 iso with sp1.
    Several forum members can supply links, or at least the have been able to.
