How can I check if I have a certain update installed?

    Hi,

I would like to check if I have update patch KB2533623 installed. Is there any way to do this?

If I type SYSTEMINFO on my machine, I get only a list of "hotfixes".

DISM++ has a board that can display all installed WUs.

Have you actually looked at their KB numbers? Those Hotfixes are all the patches that have been installed, in the order in which they were applied.

For example one of my W7 systems lists 93 Hotfixes in systeminfo, the last of which is "[93]: KB4534310". 'Installed Updates' in the control panel lists all the same KB numbers under 'Microsoft Windows (93)' including the 'Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4534310)'. The 'Hotfixes' are the Windows updates.

That one is the KB4534310 Security Monthly Quality Rollup update Windows 7 - Jan. 14

Thank you, I understand Hotfixes are Updates, however not all Updates are Hotfixes, it would appear.

For example, my computer that I am writing from, has only 11 Hotfixes, according to systeminfo, but Windows Update History reports some 30+ Updates.

SO, what I am getting at is, does systeminfo give the full story on updates, or how else would you explain the difference?

Systeminfo should list all updates that are currently installed, while 'Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Windows Update > View update history' list all updates that were ever installed, including security intelligence updates. In addition, superseded updates would still be in the update history, even if they have since been removed by Disk Cleanup's 'clean up system files'.

If you want to see which updates are currently installed then 'Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features > Installed Updates' is where you should look, not the update history. On all my W7 systems the Control Panel's 'Installed Updates' shows all the same KBs and the same total number of updates as the Hotfix list in Systeminfo.
