Windows 7 SP1 Pro 64 bit. Phone Activation Not Possible

A customer has an old accounts program that suits them fine but won't work on their new Windows 10 computer. I think it's to do with the flash player being too old in the accounts program (QuickBooks SimpleStart 2012). They planned to run it on an old Windows 7 computer but the key, which appears to be genuine won't activate online and the phone activation doesn't seem to allow for Windows 7 anymore. I'm in the UK.
Is there anything else I can try to get 7 activated.

I have suggested running a VM in the Windows 10 PC but they think that would be too confusing. They will be retiring in the next year so they want to keep it simple.

Assuming it's factory-brand and not self-built, did that computer come with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit?
Is the Certificate-Of-Authenticity sticker on it (if it has one) for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit?
Is the 25-character product key on the C-O-A sticker clearly readable?

No sticker on it. I don't know where the copy came from but they don't seem the sort of people who would go down the pirated software route, at least not knowingly.

The more important part of my question is whether MS have disabled phone activation for Win 7 in the UK.

Finally managed to get to the Windows 7 part of the phone activation which is now hidden away from the main menu and not even mentioned by name. However, the key still failed to activate. I'm pretty sure its a counterfeit key. The people must have been sold a dodgy serial ages ago.. I'll have to get them a sealed retail copy.
    Here's the MGDiag result..

The bit about the COA SLP seems to give the game away as a key that was tied to another motherboard.

    "
    - OEM SLP and COA SLP product keys, are issued by large computer manufacturers and use SLP (System Locked Pre-installation) technology to bind the license to the original motherboard via the BIOS and software. "

My last post seems to have gone missing. So here it is again..
I think the key is not genuine. MGDiag.exe shows the key to be COA SLP which appears to be a key from another computer that is tied to the motherboard of that computer.
Looks like my customer has been sold a dodgy key in the past (they say they've never used it before).
I'll have to get hold of a sealed retail copy of 7.

    Hi Alfrom,

Your are correct -- they were sold a dud had an exploit installed to circumvent activation.
Comp was manufactured prior to W7's release, so no way an OEM key would be acceptable.

I've told them the copy isn't genuine and they will need to either upgrade their accounts package, use a VM or buy a retail version of 7.

    Hi Alfarom,

Even a VM needs a valid key.

Its highly unlikely they will be able to get a genuine Retail key now, wouldn't touch Amazon (marketplace) or Ebay,

Thier best bet, somebody in the same line of business who has upgraded to W10, old keys are not redacted.

getting hold of an W7 SP1 Iso is not a problem.
