    Best regards!

the update pack is necessary ? I'm wary of the windows and mobile firmware updates which always end up making the system slowly. using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit service pack 1.

    You're most welcome!
Those updates don't include Microsoft products such as Office, etc.
Windows Update still functions for those and other available updates.
I set my WU to notify me but let me choose to download and install them.

    Happy Computing!

I was skeptical but it works. It checks for recent updates before it starts. I didn't notice any computer slow down. It took 2 hours. It left behind 8 GB of Windows Update files that disk cleanup can delete. It automatically runs disk cleanup at the end but you can cancel and run it later. From my experience deleting that amount of update files took 3 hours
